Loving Afro-Peruvian Music

Wow! Around the world we can always find people willing to help us along the way in our path. It is wonderful to be connected to a community of artist and educators.

I think that I just may have found my next photography project. I am off to visit Susana Baca's Instituto Negro Continuo in Lima and then I am on my way on the SOYUZ bus to Chinche y El Carmen to begin documenting the music of Afro-Peruvians. I will have to come back for the festivales that occur throughout the upcoming year.

Ciao for now,
Gypsy

More on Black Peruvian Music...I suggest you go and get this great compilation CD Afro-Peruvian Classics: The Soul of Black Peru ~ this CD has various musicians including, Susana Baca. This CD is one of my favorites. Susana Baca is performing @ Joe's Pub in May ... I will be there. Will you?
